Kindness
Today, I am going to be kind. Beyond reaching out to those I love, beyond showing joy to those I know, I will be kind to everyone whose path merges with mine during the day. Be it for a swift moment or an extended period of time, at the very least I will offer everyone a smile. I recognize that a simple smile can change the trajectory of someone’s day. I recognize that with each smile and every kind word we show others that we recognize and appreciate their presence. In the hustle and bustle of every day life, I am thankful for the moments where others have recognized my presence. I will strive to be mindful of those around me. I will work to bring joy to the lives of others, keeping in mind my goal to never be the root of another’s sorrow.
Anger and Frustration
I recognize that at times I will experience anger and frustration. I understand that these emotions are natural and an important part of the human experience. In times of anger I will work to understand the source of my emotions. In times of frustration I will work to understand the source of my emotions. I know that there is something great for me to learn in moments of anger and frustration. I know that these are the moments that require me to be the best version of myself that I can be.I refuse to let anger and frustration call me to interact with others with a cold heart and mean spirit. I refuse to let anger and frustration cause me to act outside of my nature.
Open Mind & Open Heart
With an open mind and an open heart, let me always speak my truth with care. Let me continue be mindful of my thoughts, feelings, and emotions, accepting each a valid- accepting each as a part of who I am. I know that I have something powerful and positive to contribute to the world. Likewise, I know that the world has something powerful and positive to contribute to me. Let me welcome new ideas and be willing to share my ideas with others.
